The dripping posts are bleeding last particles of light,
Electric circuit seeping into seared infertile soil
As the city scrapes the dimming sky into a blackout.

Slither sewer tongues caress crevices of Earth,
Where babies are delivered in putrefied placenta
And cattle are packed tightly into straight and square boxes.

The storm is smog-full gray,
And liquid drops decay
Our fading-shading day.

(The sun yet always rises)
